Why add this?:
Helps Ghost Company finally carve out a solid role with the server and adds more variety to 212th as a whole.


ENERGY SHIELDS!!!!
Using
energy shields is vital for Ghost Company, the anti-vehicle sub-unit of the 212th Attack Battalion, because they provide essential protection during engagements against armored targets and heavy firepower. Anti-vehicle roles place troopers directly in the line of tank cannons, emplacements, and explosive splash damage, making added survivability critical. Energy shields allow Ghost Company to hold position, deploy rockets, and eliminate enemy armor without being immediately overwhelmed.

Restricting energy shields to Ghost Company also helps address the fact that they are currently overshadowed by their 2AB counterparts. Providing this specialized equipment gives them a defined battlefield identity as the battalion’s hardened anti-vehicle element. Overall, energy shields act as a tactical multiplier, improving durability, reinforcing their unique role, and ensuring they remain effective under the heaviest fire.

If this is added we request that the current (rw_sw_dc15se_212th) be removed as one of 212th custom weapons and the server entirely and that the energy shield takes its place.

HEAVY PING LAUNCHER ADDITIONS
We are proposing the addition of two new variants of the heavy ping launcher (rw_sw_pinglauncher_heavy):

EMP Variant – A version that exclusively fires EMP rounds.
Hybrid Variant – A version with two selectable fire modes: EMP and HE grenades.

Additionally, we request that the EMP rounds detonate on impact, similar to existing EMP grenades, if technically possible.We understand that these weapons would not be exclusive and that other battalions may request access to them as well. We are fully supportive of that and have no objections.

The proposed loadout changes better define 212th Ghost Company as a dedicated anti-vehicle and heavy support unit. Adding the rw_sw_pinglauncher_heavy [Explosive] gives them the proper tools to engage armor and fortified targets, while the rw_sw_dc15a_o strengthens mid-to-long-range support capability. The new energy shield increases survivability during high-threat engagements, allowing them to hold firing positions under heavy return fire. Removing rw_sw_dc15se_212th and weapon_policeshield eliminates role overlap and replaces less suitable equipment

The rest is the same as the reasoning listed above. The removal of the police shield is because it becomes redundant with the addition of the energy shield. Dc15se will be removed from 212th due to the addition of the energy shield, the emp will also be redundant when adding the launcher with emps.

Implementing this equipment would allow us to maintain strong offensive capability against hostile NPC forces while substantially reducing the risk of friendly fire incidents.

Love the more options on the ping launcher so I'm all for that. The only thing I'm skeptical on is the energy shield. It seems like it's just an extra layer of armor that doesn't do damage to health before breaking. That sounds great for the purpose of taking out vehicles but for PvP, that sounds really unfair to fight. Yes, PvP is a very rare occurrence, but it should still be taken into account since there is a non-allied faction.

Edit: Assuming that it is PvP restricted, then I am all for it.

We put alot of thought into if it would be fair in situations like PVP and decided that we would restrict it from being used in pvp like the smart launcher. I also would like to say that in terms of lore neither 212th or 501st generally used energy shields, there are alot of cases in the server in witch battalions have things that they wouldn't generally have for the sake of making their battalions use case more effective, thats what we are trying to do here.

seems fine with me, im fine with the energy shield because it functions differently then the squad shield and fits 212th.

cause the squad shield provides cover with limited cooldown/how long it lasts and makes us hold the line longer and provide cover for other troopers, while this energy shield is focused for 212th being all aggressive and lasting longer single handedly and providing distractions, completely different purposes between the two shields. plus 501st doesnt really hog the shields, we only hog the squad bubble shield cause on the server its our thing, so im more then fine with our 7sc brothers in arms having the energy shield as its different and does different things/scenarios then the squad shield.

i also am fine with the ping launcher, not sure if its possible but a custom weapon that does both emp and he grenades and one just EMP seems fine. sad to see 212th ghost heavy go (my creation :( but its fair as it would be too op for Z6 bois with an energy shield, and seems fair to replace ghost heavy with ghost senior job for higher ranks like 212th airborne.

overall these seems like reasonable and unique changes, so this is fine with me.

Forgot to respond to this earlier.
As far as the heavy ping launcher variants go not to sure about that as far as having HE as an option and would probably have liked if you want the new variants to have the same stats as the existing one or if they were to be different. It would be considered heavy as a hybrid not stats in my pinion because the heavy ping launch i think people forget but its suppose to be a battalion weapon for 21st so id be concerned it invalidating their reason for having it as a custom if there were to be a hybrid if the stats were to be close as far as HE goes. Its bad enough the heavy ping launcher is on a donator job.

At first i thought it was something that already existed. But I would be fine with them having a shield like that.
I could probably come up with code for something like this but as for as even remotely fancy look don't know about that.

If you think the enemy is still alive just keep firing.

We're going to deny the shields. We were a bit conflicted in management, but due to balancing issues and the high expectations that would set for other battalions in what they might ask for we decided to deny it for now. Since we'll be denying the shield we'll be leaving the shields on the associated jobs asking to have them removed. Everything else has been accepted. The new Heavy Ping launcher shoots new EMPs that explode on impact.
