Why would you like to become a Gamemaster Coordinator?
I’m interested in becoming a Gamemaster Coordinator for many of the same reasons as before. Being a GM is something I genuinely enjoy, and across my ~1200 hours on the server, I’ve spent the majority of that time contributing in a GM role in one way or another. Joining the GMC team would allow me to better support newer GMs, collaborate more closely with existing Coordinators, and contribute to improving guidelines and overall structure for the team aswell as improving event quality.
If accepted for the position, what can you bring to the table as a Gamemaster Coordinator? This is a difficult question to answer directly, but I believe I bring strong communication skills, reliability, and a level-headed approach. I’m comfortable working alongside both the current GMC team and management, and I understand how to collaborate effectively within a structured team. In addition, I aim to handle situations professionally and fairly. I try to remain calm, objective, and respectful when dealing with others, avoiding personal bias when making decisions such as punishments or promotions. Maintaining a neutral and approachable attitude is something I consider very important in this role.
If you see anyone using their powers off duty (e.g., spawning items, freezing, arresting players), how would you respond if it was their first offense?
My response would depend heavily on the context of the situation. If all parties involved are clearly consenting, for example, harmless interactions where everyone is participating and enjoying it, I would not take immediate action. However, I would still remind the individual that they are expected to maintain a professional image at all times. If the actions are not consensual, then disciplinary action would be necessary. The severity would depend on what occurred. Minor misuse, such as briefly freezing a player, might result in a verbal warning, whereas more serious abuse, like unjustified arrests or repeated misuse, could lead to stronger consequences such as a strike or even removal. Context and impact are key factors in determining the response.
What if this behavior has occurred multiple times before?
If the behavior is repeated, the situation becomes more serious. Prior offenses indicate that previous warnings or punishments were not effective. In that case, I would escalate the disciplinary action accordingly. The level of escalation would depend on both the frequency and severity of the past incidents.
A Gamemaster is running a poor event. What would you do and say?
I would avoid taking over their event unless it is completely unsalvageable. Instead, I would step in to assist if needed, joining their voice channel, helping guide the flow of the event, and ensuring players understand the objective. My goal would be to improve the experience without undermining the GM hosting it. After the event, I would gather feedback from players, other GMs. I would then approach the GM and provide constructive feedback, including both what went well and what could be improved. If it’s their first time struggling, I would treat it as a learning opportunity and help them improve moving forward. However, if they consistently ignore feedback and fail to improve, then further action may be required, as that would indicate a lack of willingness to follow expectations.
Any warnings? (Staff/GM/Server Strikes)
