Why are you looking to join the Staff Team and what can you bring to the team & community?
I simply enjoy being there for people whenever they need me, whether it’s as a GM or as a staff member handling issues outside of GM responsibilities. I also miss being able to take any ticket that isn’t JMT, rather than having to let it sit unclaimed.
Whenever dealing with a staff sit the reported party ends up disappearing, after review of the tab menu you see they're no longer on the server. What are your next steps?
If someone leaves the server while I'm in a sit with them or just about to pull them, here's what I usually do:
First, I make sure to note everything down, who the player was, what the sit was about, and any proof like chat logs or screenshots. I also grab their SteamID before it’s too late, just in case they don’t come back.
Then I check the logs to see what they were doing right before they left. That helps me figure out if they crashed, disconnected randomly, or left on purpose to dodge punishment.
If it’s pretty clear they left to avoid the sit and I have enough evidence, I’ll go ahead and issue a ban with the right reason (like “RDM + LTAP”).
I always try to let the reporter know what’s going on too, just something simple like, “Hey, they left the server, but I’ve got it handled,” so they’re not left wondering.
And if the player comes back later, I’ll follow up and either finish the sit or adjust the punishment if needed. I just try to stay fair, document everything, and keep it smooth.
How would you handle a situation where you bring someone for FailRP and all they do is yell and or cuss at you?:
If I bring someone for FailRP and they just start yelling or cussing at me, I stay calm and don’t let it get to me. I’d politely ask them to stop and let them know that if they keep being disrespectful, I won’t be able to continue the sit. I try to give them a chance to calm down and explain their side ,sometimes people are just frustrated in the moment.
If they keep going and won’t listen after a warning, I’d let them know that they are being muted so I can explain the situation properly and the other party is able to share their sight on the situation. I’d also make sure to log the situation properly with any relevant evidence.
