Joules
2. Server / Staff Rank:
SGM-Admin
3. Why would you like to become a Gamemaster Coordinator?:
I have been dedicated to this community practically since I joined last year in March, and want to continue that dedication by helping lead the GM team by pushing RP-oriented events and more passive RP between events. Currently there is only one GMC and I know from experience how the pressure of being the "focal point" of handling issues, updates, progression of a team, and responding to feedback all falling onto one person can burn someone out. I would love to get the opportunity to work with the current GM leadership team and split up some of those responsibilities so things are easier on everyone, which is my goal for everything regarding the community in general. Mainly I just want to bring my experience as a GM and staff member to table and help lead GMs into a bright and productive future.
4. If accepted the position what can you bring to the table as a Gamemaster Coordinator?:
I enjoy helping those who need help and giving guidance to those who ask for it. One thing I always do as an SGM is give private feedback after the first On map and Off map a new GM does, and I'm always open to doing the same for other GMs that come to me or request some pointers after an event. I have experience but I am also always open to learning new things, either it be from a very experienced GM or a fresh GM with new ideas - "I know what I don't know" is key in a leadership position in my opinion, meaning I will always do my best to give accurate information on a subject and if I don't have an answer, I will find it and disperse that information as needed. I also pride myself on being a person that is very approachable, which is another trait that I feel is needed in such a position. I also have experience as a battalion command member who has pushed multiple successful initiatives to increase RP and activity, and want to bring that into the GM team to keep things going strong.
5. If you see anyone using their powers off duty as in spawning stuff, freezing people, or arresting people (the job doesn’t come with an arrest stick) how would you respond if it was the first time?:
If it is the first time, I would take evidence and give a verbal warning letting them know that we can't do things like this as it would contribute to tarnishing the reputation of the entire team bit-by-bit. Just remind them that when we are on the job, we are representing the server and should hold ourselves to a higher standard. After this, I would let the rest of the GM leadership know what was done.
5a. From the previous question, what if the same stuff happened multiple times in the past, how would you proceed?:
If the GM team member has a history of role abuse, I would be sure to gather hard evidence (in the form of clips, screen shots, etc.) and communicate the issue with the rest of the GM leadership team. Once we have come to an agreement on a punishment, I would let the person know what is going on/why they are receiving said punishment and ask the SGM team to keep an eye on the GM abusing their power in the case the punishment was not severe enough to have them removed.
6. A Gamemaster is having a crappy event, What would you do and say?:
The first thing I would do is see if the GM needs any assistance. If so, I would gladly participate however they need me to make the event better, and I would send out a ping to gain more GM assistance if needed.
If it is a matter of just being poorly planned and I was not in a position to help directly, I would try to pull them aside and give some suggestions on how to better prepare events in the future. Turn it into a coaching opportunity and try to give them the tools to succeed in the future.
7. Any warnings? (Staff/GM/Server Strikes):
